//faq   1. when will we be able to see our pictures?   you will receive your proofs approximately 3-4 weeks after the wedding date. 2. what is "Online Proofing"?   online proofing is the service that we provide through PhotoReflect.com. You will be able to view all of your wedding photos there. This will be the same amount of wedding photos that you will receive with your DVD of high-resolution files. From this web site your friends and family can view the entire wedding and order any prints they may want. 3. what are "Complimentary Reception Cards"?   these are small 2x3" prints with a photo typically from and engagement or bridal session (if you have one with us) or a photo you can provide to us in digital format, with the web address for viewing all the photos from the wedding day. this is designed to be put somewhere at the reception site (perhaps near guest book) so your guests can pick them up and know where to go to see the photos from the day. This way you have the bases covered as far as guests viewing and/or ordering prints of the photos. ^_^ 4. how does photo selection for the album work and how do we know what it will look like before it is printed and bound?   you pick 20-30 of your favorites, and we'll do the rest. We design our albums to reflect the story of your day. Typically we don't include formal shots in our albums so we don't interrupt the flow of the story, although we will add some if you'd like to have them included. Once We have the design ready, you will be able to see the layout (horizontal, vertical) on a web site where you will can browse each page as it will be in the book. Once you approve the design we will have it printed and bound. 5. do you travel outside of the Dallas/Ft Worth area for wedding coverage, and are you available for destination weddings?   we are available to travel outside of our local areas, state, and even out of the country for destination weddings. Travel costs are based on your location, so please contact us at either 972-342-8579 or email us and we will be happy to give you a customized quote. 6. when you choose the 250 4x6" prints that we receive as part of our wedding coverage, what is the content like?   we pick the best 250 shots from the entire amount of wedding day photos to include in your 4x6" prints. we typically choose them based on our idea of the best representation of the story of your day from start to finish. Although there are times we do not include any 4x6" prints of the formals or group shots that were shot, please let us know before your wedding day if those are some of the shots you'd like to have included. You hire us for our vision and this is the best way we feel we can deliver it. 7. do you shoot digital or film, and what type of equipment do you use? Can digital still make large prints?   we currently only shoot in digital format using Nikon professional equipment. We feel that there are many technical advantages to digital over film in the way we use it and we love the control we have over the output quality of our images. We typically print anywhere from wallet to poster sized (20x30") prints from our digital images. We have no qualms about the quality or detail we get from our images. Please contact us with any questions regarding larger prints than listed on our web site or any special print requests. 8. do we make payments or pay the full amount at contract signing? What types of payment do you accept?   you can certainly pay the full coverage fee at the time you return a signed contract and model release. However, we understand that a payment plan can be of added value and convenience to you. If you choose to pay in installments, one third of the total coverage fee is paid at the time of the contract signing. This amount is a nonrefundable retainer that assures that we reserve the date for your wedding and any other inquiry for that date is refused. The second payment of one third of the total cost is due 45 days before the wedding, with the final one third due two weeks before the wedding. We accept cash, personal checks, cashier's checks and money orders. We also accept Visa, Master Card, Amex and Discover credit cards. 9. do you photograph any posed formal pictures or work from a shot list?   we're happy to work with you on the formals/group shots that you may want, however our approach to formals/group shots is short and sweet (approximately 20-30 minutes) as this allows you more time to be with your guests and enjoy your wedding day. 10. why do you list two enlargement print sizes for the same price on your pricing page?   we list both 8x10 and 8x12" prints as well as 16x20 and 16x24" prints next to each other to offer an option to preserve our original photograph aspect ratio. A 16x20 and 8x10" print is a pretty "standard" sized print however, both are a trimmed or cropped version of the original photo. We feel that in order to preserve the original full frame, we needed to offer a print that reflects our second and third most popular print sizes. granted you may want to use theavailability or cost of framing and matting the full frame sizes before deciding on one or the other, as 16x24 and 8x12" frames may be harder to come by than the more standard sizes. The only other print size that we offer that features a full frame photograph is the 4x6" print. 11.  do we have to pay for our high resolution digital files? And, what does it mean when your contract states that you retain the copyrights to the images?   your high resolution digital files are yours to keep and are included in our coverages. Your DVD of high resolution files will be available to you upon delivery of your album or 6 months after the wedding date. your DVD of high resolution files comes with limited term use release, which allows you to make reprints to share with friends and family; however we do retain the copyrights to all of the images captured. This means that according to United States copyright law, all images taken by a professional photographer are copyrighted by that photographer and the photographer owns all rights to them. {17 USC 106.} Since we hold the copyrights to all images captured, you will not be allowed to use the images or negatives for any reason other than private personal use. 12.  what if I want an item that is not included on your pricing page?   if you don't see an item in our pricing page that you'd like us to include or get for you, please don't hesitate to call us at 972.342.8579 or email us and let us know.
